David started The Exporter CC in 2000, which specialised in radio communication sales, distribution and installations throughout Africa and abroad. He realised a need for solar in remote repeater high sites and ExSolar Solar Solutions was born. After over a decade of experience in solar, he has refined ExSolar Solar Solutions to be one of the foremost solar distributors and installers in Southern Africa.

Clinton Hardwick

Senior Engineer

Clinton joined the company in 2013 bringing with him a wealth of experience and knowledge that has made him irreplaceable to ExSolar and The Exporter CC. He came from the senior ranks of Telkom where he was a high level specialist for IP networks design, implementation and management for 23 years.

​He is the Senior engineer in charge of system design, system planning and system development for both solar and radio systems.
Apart from his expertise in radio systems, Clinton also designed an energy monitoring system and grid tie limiter which we use in all our systems to manage and limit solar production, and has recently integrated a facility which enables excess PV power to be boosted into energy drawing equipment such as geysers instead of losing this excess power. ​

Rene Beets

​Import & Export Manager

​Rene is our export manager. She specialises in all freight and logistic matters and heads up the export and import side of the company.  She is also the key account manager for the radio communications division. She has been trained in the following applications:​

• FQ Pro Food, health and safety ​

Jaysen Pitot

Electrical & Opperations

Jaysen is one of our skilled electricians and has been with Exsolar since 2018. He plays a key role in managing our day-to-day installation operations and brings both leadership and hands-on expertise to the team. Jaysen holds the following qualifications and certifications:

• Electrical Engineering N1–N3
• Wireman’s License (ETSP)
• Solar Installer
• Working at Heights & Risk Assessment
• Basic Fall Arrest & Fall Arrest Technician
• First Aid Level 1 & Firefighting Level 1

Clarissa Taljaard

Export Administration Assistant

Clarissa is in our export administration & sales department. She assists with sales and quoting and general administration as well as assisting with the export/import division. She has been trained in the following applications:​

• Time Management 
• ​Letter of Credit
• COVID Safety Officer

Natashja van der Merwe

Marketing Specialist

Natashja is Head of Marketing. Her role is to co-ordinate all of ExSolar's marketing campaigns and website management. She is also our events co-ordinator and you will always see her at shows and exhibitions we attend.  She has also been trained in the following areas:​

• National Diploma in Events Management 

Kyle Whitmore

Senior Technician 

Kyle oversees the programming, maintenance and troubleshooting of solar energy components, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.  Kyle is well versed in Victron Energy systems and NodeRed.

Claryssa Hartzenberg

Solar Sales and Design

Claryssa is in our direct solar sales and solar system designs. She is in charge of producing turn-key solar packages for national and international clients, and has a hands-on approach to engineering and installation requirements. She carries out structural and electrical design of solar PV systems for roof and ground-based commercial & residential projects both locally and in Africa.
